The wonderful sounds that emanate from the studios and the rehearsal halls at the Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts reaffirm this on a daily basis. We began with 40 students being taught by a faculty of 7 and we have now grown to a student population of over 600 with a faculty of over 50. In order to sustain ourselves and to continue to offer financial assistance to students who could not otherwise afford to have music lessons, we need to raise 30% of our annual budget from the community we serve. Our scholarship program provides between $15,000 - $25,000 each year to support students who could not
otherwise fulfill their dreams of making music. Please help make these dreams come true by offering your support through a tax-deductible gift to the Ann
Arbor School for the Performing Arts. It costs $400 to support a single student for a semester of private lessons, but whether your gift is $25 or $2,500,
you will be making a tremendous difference in the lives of children and adults in the community.

Scholarship Program

This fund primarily provides financial assistance for any student who demonstrates financial need and desire to study music. It also subsidizes tuition reduction for enrolling in more than one complementary offering and for members from the same family who are enrolled at the school. The annual Practice-a-Thon provides approximately half of the annual funds needed to support this important program.

In-Kind Gifts

Donations of goods, materials and services are also a welcome source of support for the School. From office supplies to graphic design to musical instruments, we willingly accept those things which will benefit the school but may just be taking up space at your home or office. Specific donated services also help us keep our expenses in line. If you or your business have goods or services you feel will fill a need at the school, please call and let us know. We are also happy to provide you with a list of our needs.

Matchings Gifts

Many corporations and businesses in the area can help you double your gift to AA-SPA by matching your support with a gift of their own. Please contact your personnel or human resources office and find out whether your place of business has a Matching Gifts Program in place. If so, they can provide you with the necessary paperwork. Then simply fill it out and send it in with your gift to the School.

Planned Giving

Tax-deductible gifts to the school can be a part of your financial planning and an important part of the School’s future. For example, a gift of life insurance permits you to deduct premiums against current income. A gift of appreciated stock can offset capital gains. A bequest in your will or the creation of charitable trusts can help AA-SPA reach goals and create valuable tax-savings for you. Volunteers Help Volumes!

AA-SPA has many opportunities for students, families and friends to support AA-SPA by giving of their time and energy. There are many interesting roles volunteers can choose from at AA-SPA and without help the show just would not go on. Please consider donating your time and talent to community music education.
